Special Report: Burma protests remembered
In the summer of 1988 the people of Burma poured onto the streets in their tens of thousands, calling for basic human rights, and democracy. The country's military rulers crushed the protests, and remain in charge to this day. This BBC News Online Special Report - compiled on the 10th anniversary of the protests - looks back at the dramatic events of the time and asks what lessons they hold for Burma's people today.
