Mr Gray's date with Britney was in front of about 20 people |
A Norfolk seafood seller who went on a date with Britney Spears tried to woo her with a jar of Colman's mustard. Spencer Gray, 26, from Cromer, was asked to date the pop princess as part of new television programme.
As well as giving her the famous condiment - made in Norwich - he also handed her a video of Alan Partridge.
Mr Gray, who was treated to a kiss on the cheek from the pop star, said he thought the date went well despite all the cameras.
Mr Gray told BBC Radio Norfolk the singer seemed impressed with his gifts.
"I took her an Alan Partridge video," he said. "People have asked why I didn't her take her roses, but I thought that was too obvious and took her some Colman's mustard instead."

He also handed Britney a signed Norwich City Football Club shirt which the singer said she would wear in bed. Mr Gray said he was nervous at meeting the pop star but she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek to help put him at ease.
"She was very pleasant," he said. "I think she knew I was nervous and gave me a little kiss on the cheek."
During the date at a London hotel, Mr Gray got to ask Britney a list of questions, but the meeting was far from intimate - in front of her 15-strong entourage and numerous television cameras.
He said he "doubted" they would date again, but felt lucky to have been pulled off the streets of Norwich, taken to America to visit the star's hometown and then met the woman herself.
He also revealed the meeting with the singer had been his idea and he had turned down possible dates with Jordan and Caprice.
The aim of the programme - called Can You Pull? - was to see if Mr Gray, who also runs an American car wash firm, could turn himself into Britney's perfect man.
The results will be shown on E4 at 2200 BST on Wednesday.
