Dentists treat more NHS patients
Thousands more NHS dental patients could be accommodated in a Worcestershire town thanks to the arrival of dentists from Poland.

Malvern underwent a dental crisis when many practitioners either went private or could not take on any more patients.

The Polish dentists have been working at the dental access clinic.

Plans are in place for one of them to remain there and the other to set up a new surgery allowing them to treat 6,000 NHS patients between them.

The decision to employ the polish pair was taken by the South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust after thousands of people were left without anyone to look after their teeth.

Although Alan McMichael, consultant in dental care for Worcestershire, says that the problem has not been solved, he admits that it is a step in the right direction.
