Three people have escaped from their vehicles without serious injuries after strong winds brought down a tree and threw debris onto roads in Dorset. A lorry driver suffered facial injuries when a plank of wood blew off another truck and smashed through his window at Spread Eagle Hill, near Shaftesbury.
A 18-month toddler and her grandmother, aged 70, were rescued after a tree fell on their car in Sandford Road, Wareham.
Another driver helped free them from their vehicle.
Dorset Police said the roof and windscreen of the black Alfa Romeo were "extensively damaged" and described the car as "undriveable".
