Jewellery clue to Kendal body
Police hope someone will recognise the distinctive bracelet
Police have released photographs of jewellery worn by a woman whose body was found in Cumbria last week.

The unidentified woman was found in the River Kent at Sedgwick, near to Kendal, last Wednesday.

Cumbria Police said the body was badly decomposed, making identification difficult.

On Monday, police issued photographs of a bracelet and topaz ring she was wearing.

Officers hope someone will recognise the items and help identify the woman.

She is described as white, aged between 17 and 23 years, about 5' 2" and of slim build.

The woman was wearing cream-coloured trousers, a T-shirt with "Little Italy, 42nd Street NYC" printed on it, and a hooded woollen cardigan with a zip.

The zigzag shaped bracelet and blue topaz dress ring were also found.

The underwater search team is expected to visit the river on Tuesday to help with the inquiry to establish the woman's identity.
