Body found near river
An investigation has started after a body was found on the banks of a Cumbrian river.

The body was discovered on the banks of the River Kent at Sedgwick, south Kendal, at around 1000 GMT on Wednesday.

It was recovered by police who said a post mortem examination will be carried out on Thursday.

Cumbria Police are making further inquiries to try and identify the body.

Further details are expected to be released later on Thursday.
