The council wants to stop people becoming homeless |
An extra 80,000 is to be spent in part of Cornwall to offer more support to homeless people in the area. Last year, Restormel Borough Council spent almost 140,000 tackling the problem, but it says there is still more to do.
The extra money will be used to help pay for bed and breakfast accommodation for homeless people, but also to find a longer-term solution.
Restormel says it wants to develop support services for local residents.
The council says its current policy has been very successful, but the extra money will help even more people.
It will be used to try to stop residents becoming homeless in the first place and allow the council to step in more quickly to deal with any problems.
