Untransmitted material

Access to untransmitted material

The BBC will not voluntarily allow access to untransmitted material when to do so would endanger people who work for the BBC or when it would make it more difficult to gather such material in the future.

Such material could point to the identity of a confidential source.

In the UK, requests for access to untransmitted material come mostly from the Police.
