Cancer researchers talk about their hopes for new cancer treatments based on genetic engineering.

A multitude of new anti-tumour therapies are progressing through the clinical trials process, carrying with them the hopes of patients and doctors around the world.

They include genetic treatments that make cancer cells commit suicide, designer viruses that single out tumours for destruction and therapeutic vaccines made out of a patients own malignant cells.
