Beneath the Gulf of Mexico oil slick
Thousands of barrels of oil have been spewing into the Gulf every day since April's explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig
BP officials say the latest attempt to shut off the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico is going as planned.
It will be several hours before anyone knows if the "top kill" procedure to cap the leak has been successful.
What has been the environmental impact of the clean-up operation?
Philippe Cousteau, grandson of the French oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, has been diving down into the toxic mix of oil and chemical dispersant to take a closer look.
