Day-to-day life in Zimbabwe

Presidential and parliamentary elections are due to take place in Zimbabwe on Saturday.

Throughout this week we'll be sampling a range of opinions from people across the country.

With widespread anger over food shortages and inflation running at 100,000%, opposition rallies are attracting far more people than those held by the ruling party.

President Mugabe continues to insist that he will win by a landslide, ridiculing suggestions that frictions within the ruling party could lead to an opposition victory.

The leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), Morgan Tsvangirai, told 30,000 of his supporters on Sunday that he's confident of victory, but says he expects President Mugabe to use every trick in the book to rig the polls and warned party members to be on high alert.

Our first sample of opinion from within the country comes from Clyde. He is a former pastor who lives in Marondera, a town in eastern Zimbabwe.
