The last African team in the tournament out-played Brazil in the first half but were unable to convert their industry into a goal. Accra, Ghana and Africa hope and expect... Will Ross has been out and about in Accra to guage the mood amongst supporters there. The match will be watched with keen interest by virtually every Ghanaian, and perhaps with more than most by the Tabons of Accra. The Tabons are descendants of freed African slaves from Brazil who resettled in Ghana about 170 years ago. Kwaku Sakyi-Addo asked Nii Azumah Nelson, a 60-year-old lawyer and member of the Tabon community who he thought should win. Alex Jakana spoke to Brazilian journalist Asdrubal Figueiro in Brasilia to find out the mood in his country ahead of today's game. Friday 23rd June With a mighty 2-1 victory over USA, Ghana's Black Stars have made it through the group stage of the 2006 World Cup to reach the knock-out stage, earning themselves a tie against Brazil. Carrying the hopes of the continent around in their kitbags, the team's efforts have been applauded by Ghana's president, John Kuffuor. Meanwhile, the country celebrates. Kwaku Sakyi-Addo went out on to the streets of Accra soon after the final whistle of their match against USA. Thursday 22nd June The Black Stars take on USA today. Our reporter, Ross Atkins has been following them throughout the tournament and he told Network Africa all about the preparations and spoke to defender, Illiasu Shilla abou thow the team were dealing with the weight of expectation.
