Staying neutral
African football supporters
It's not all bad for neutral countries
It's not just the participating countries that are gearing up for a month of high octane football enjoyment.

Neutral countries on the continent are feeling the excitement just as keenly.

In South Africa the national team, Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for Germany but the country is hosting the next World Cup in 2010. Mohammed Allie reports on the country's efforts to watch and learn.

World Cup fever has not bypassed Kenya and in the capital, television dealers are doing brisk business as fans prepare to cheer their teams in Germany. John Nene has the story from Nairobi.

Meanwhile, in Libya the usual African unity rhetoric seems have taken a back seat ahead of the World Cup. Many football fans there are pledging support for the Latin American giants Brazil and even former colonial masters Italy. Rana Jawad takes a look at the preparations in Tripoli.
