Programme Summary It's party time here at the World Service. This week we are celebrating our birthday. It's 75 years since the first broadcast of what was then called the BBC Empire Service and to celebrate there have been a number of special events.
One event held this year is The Next Big Thing 2007. This is a worldwide talent competition to find new music and new musicians. The winners were announced recently and performed at the 75th Anniversary Concert last weekend. Find out more about the competition, the finalists and the winners from our special guest this week.
