Hi,Poor and Pure. You remember this two word ,that is close to each other, in Ramadan. Muslims make charities to poorer people at this month with zekat and sadaka. These two worships are alms or we can say charity. Let's talk about pure. Ramadan makes us pure, close to Allah and far from bad behaviours. I think these two p's are very important.

I'm really interested in the programme. Ramadan in my country Indonesia is such a great moment, there are a lot of activities in local mosques. And after a month of Ramadan, we celebrate Idul Fitri, with foods and drinks of course.

With the permission of the presenters, I would like to write to Ramin from Iran. Ramin, Ramadan is a month of character building. What you do in this month should reflect in your acts for the rest of the year. The practice done in this month is for every individual so first we should see what changes it has brought into us.

Thank God to help me to fast.Ramadan teach us to use our requirement in lowest stage and bear our problems.also we can understand poor and hungry people. These are spiritual effects of fasting.

I 'm in the shoes of those who starve though t's temporary and try to work harder than in the other months, this how I get closet to the Almighty.

in addition all information below I would like to add a diffirent perspective to Ramadan. İt reminds you how poor people live and feel in poverty. so it makes you contribute and help poor people around you. on the other hand because you feel closer to God , you avoid doing bad things.

I have a good friend, he is moslem. One day I have fasted too because I wanted to know what he feels. That was a very important experience for me.This effort to control herself helps to be better and takes care of the people around you.

Well, I'm Muslim because of my father otherwise I'm not religious at all but I'd like to ask a question to those who believe in Ramadan. My question is that if doing good things is good why its only in Ramadan we should do that...if not telling lie to others, not making others hopless and sad is good why only in Ramadan muslims do that ? what about the rest of the year ? are we allowed to do anything in 11 monthes of the years just because in Ramadan we dont do anything bad ?

Sterwad, Morocco
it's the end of that beautiful month,we are going to miss it so much.ramadan is not just about fasting,it's about feeling healthy, peaceful ,closer to coran and finaly you can just from dawn until dusk think of poor people around the world suffering from lack of food or water

in ramadan, quran was decended to mohammad(moslems prophet)from God,because of it this month is a holly month for moslems, and they have to fast during this month .i fasted so many times, its very hard not to eat and drink about 12 hours every day, while fasting you have to be as good as you can be as a prfect human.ramadan is agood month to try to be best as you have been befor.

I don't agree with brother Nader! In this Ramadan, i saw too many people eating in the streets and even the hot delivered food restaurants, sell everything fresh and hot in Enghelab street without any fear!!!

Thanks Jackie, Khalid and Callum. I didn't know much about Ramadan before this program. And also about the word "breakfast". From time to time, I use to fast but it's not for religious reason. It's just a desire of giving holidays to my metabolism. It makes me feel good.

Ramadan is my favourite period in the year. In the evening, after the Iftar, a special ambience takes place in houses, as well as in the streets. Special foods are displayed and special smells are in the air. So around the religious side of the holy Ramadan, social, cultural and verbal rituals have been built. Besides, it makes me feel proud of having the will of abstinence and enjoy the family meetings and sharing.

Since time immemorial for a lot of people it has always been a need to fast. Fasting gives people the possibility to reflect about one’s life to concentrate on intrinsic values and to provide one’s life with meaning. Christianity also knows fasting. It is called “Lent” It is every year before Eastern and it takes 6 weeks. You see the two religions – Christianity and Islam – have these rites in common. However I must admit that nowadays the Christians practise it only to a certain extent. But in my childhood my siblings and I were advised by my parents to do without any sweets during Lent. Furthermore we were not allowed to go to the cinema during Lent. You see though we were children we had to respect certain religious rules but in a way which was suitable for children.

Allen, Taiwan
i think it's so hard for me to fast in ramadan because I'm so weak for seduction from food. However, I did try several times to fast and I kept fast in a week.

Ramadan is one of the most important and best sacred month for muslims. In this month where we have to fast, the atmosphere is undescribable as its fully blessed and we all help (which we muslims should always do) each other/ help more poor people, etc.As its a very nice month it goes so fast. I love this month! The fasting is very good.In that way people put their luxury life on one side and remember and thank allah for giving us these good life compared to the poor people. Its very good and interesting having it as I sometimes forget these people as I am doing well, but if you dont eat and start getting hungry and then so know that u cant get some food than I think automatically how the children in Kenia can stay without any food for few days. This Ramadan makes people think to realize that being rich does not mean to stay this way forever, it shows you to wake up from luxury life and money and thing about the true reality in this world. As muslims its our duty to help poor people and to help them regulary, as its not fair we i do eat lot and threw the rest in the bin as others are dieing of hunger. But its also great as it taught you self descipline.I like this month for its blessings, where people change to be good and destroy their sins.

Andrea, Brazilian living in UAE
Ramadan is really a very interesting period to non muslim people. To my mind it is a period when muslim people live and act focusing the spiritual purification, which means a lot of things, including fasting. To foreign people like me at the begining it is a little hard to get used to it since we can not eat or drink in public between sunrise and sunset, we must cover our bodies, there is no loud music and people dancing in the clubs. In the other hand is amazing to notice how they respect their religion and take it seriosly. I admire it.

Hammed, Kuwait
first of all when i fast in ramadan i feel its matter between me and our lord its like as if he telling me you can lie to other people like pretending that you are fasting but i know what are you doing so its month where your soul to be close to the god

Gia Bao, Vietnam
I am really interested in Ramadan. In fact, every religion has its own virtues. Ramadan makes people restrain from doing bad things. they become more aware of their behaviour, care about community and such practice encourages people not to do anything on impulse. On the whole, Ramadan is sort of law governing people's behaviour to better themselves.

Ramadan is the best month in the year.i hope the year become Ramadan, all moselms become closer ro allah, they know the way to mosque 5 times in the day, visit their Neighboursand relatives, ilove this month

Nader, Iran
Ramadan is a holly months in Islam , but Iran government do not allow people to eat anything in public during Ramadan. If they do, they will be arrested and punished. This is the result of theocratic regime.I hope one day we will have choice to practice our duties.

Ramadan is the important months for Moslem. Moslem in Thailand want to go Mecca once in life. I think is very stress for me to fasting, just one day I can't do it. Even though I 'm not Moslem but I know the Moslem is able to do, Someone love the Ramadan so much and is not beyond to do because faith in Allah indeed.

I would like to add some more on fasting which I'm afraid I forgot to write. As for additional fasting, it was the way of Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him)that he used fast on every 13, 14 and 15th day of every lunar month. Apart from the fasts of Ramadan, there are 6 fasts which are observed in the 10th month of the lunar calender but they are not obligatory. Fasting makes me feel good with respect to health and fitness, and also reminds me my duty towards religion and the world.

Naheed, Pakistan
I've been observing Ramadan and now we are approaching its end and in a couple of days we will celebrate Eid. Ramadan is the 9th month according to Muslims' lunar calander. The lunar month begins with the sighthing of the moon. The fast is observed from dawn until dusk. A month of fasting is basically a lesson for a whole year that how we should spend our lives. It is also good for health reasons as fasting helps detoxify our body of toxins. On the whole, the month of Ramadan is a way of one's character building.

Khalid, Sudan
