Talking about paintings Thursday, August 30, 2007

Presenters:
William Kremer and Nuala O'Sullivan

Guests:
James Heard, The National Gallery

Programme Summary:
Continuing our topic of art, this week's programme is about ways in which we can talk about works of art - in particular, paintings. William and Nuala discuss the vocabulary and grammatical structures that are common in art criticism. James Heard, our guest, gives us some tips on how to get the most out of a trip to a gallery.

And we talk in more depth about the painting below, "Mr and Mrs Andrews" by Thomas Gainsborough. Listen to the programme to find out all about this English masterpiece.
