Your comments:
How green are you? Do you recycle? What kinds of things? Is it easy in your country to recycle things such as bottles, plastics, metal and paper?

Thank you for your comments. This topic is now closed.

Edith, Switzerland

Alaa, Egypt
Hi,I think in these countries which do not have the system of recycling,it will be very effective to run some kinds of private business based on this great idea of keeping our planet as green as it was once.

Jose, Spain
In my view in Spain most of the people have knowledge about the benefits that are being getting from recyling, and if you want you can classify your garbages and carry them to the closer clean point, that in the most of the case is not far away from you live. However I think that the green recycling culture has to be improve a lot, there are people on the streets throwing away paper and palstic bags, metal cans , remain foods, etc. in my opinion the Government through the City Halls should reinforce all the means taking care of green recycling education, on this way on the top of increasing recycling we will enjoy cleaner cities and country side.

Angela and Giampiero, Italy
We consider ourselves fairly green, because we are tryng to separate rubbish. In fact categorize glasses, plastic, metal and so on.However, it is very difficult because in our country there isn't a good recycling programme.

Italy
I really think that the more we recycle the better quality of life we can have

Gons, Spain
I'm commited to recycle the rubbish I have, so I classifie everyday everything produced as a rest of consumer things such as cartons, papers, bottles, tins, cans, etc. But it is not a comfortable task because containers of recycling litter are not near our house. And there's another question I wonder: the rubbish in those containers end up in the right place to be recycled? I'm not sure, I rather think It doesn't.

Massa, Japan
I think people writing to this place tend to think the consumers' responsibility too much. I don't know why this issue makes buyers and users feel morally burdened this much. I'm sure our producing garbage is a natural consequence of activities of producers and sellers. We need to produce a more efficient garbage recycling system involving bigger commitments from those businesses. On the other hand, we consumers should try not to buy things we don't need while shopping. Everything you buy would end up garbage sooner or later. And, the reduced consumption would tell the producers to make less products, which makes the source of garbage less. Here, my point is "refusing ( to buy )" is greener than recycling.

M.SHYF, Bangladesh
I am fairly environment friendly,I claim. I always try to recycle those things that are possible. I may mention bottles, bags, plastic pots etc. The public of my country are getting aware to recycle to be green gradually.

Darwin Robes, Phillipines
Hello and good day to all of you. In Philippines its difficult and hard to stay in green because too many factories not recycling their garbage, but for myself im trying my best to plant trees in our garden in order to change the decreasing and depleting oxone layer because trees are one good example of the one producing oxygen.

Mohammed Alhaj, Yemen
In Yemen, we just to burn such rubish, because, We do not have the machines to to recycling .

Jose Luis
I consider myself very green.I tried to recycle bottles, plastics ans paper but also oil and batteries.I tried to go on foot in my town because I love walking and don´t take the car at least it isn´t necessary.

Manu, Spain
I remember when I was a child, I had to take glass bottles to the supermarket and they gave you some money back. Now there are bottle banks everywhere here in Spain. People are more concious about recycling. We have differents boxes at home for every material, plastic, glass, paper, and in the streets we have four kind of containers: for organic rubish, for paper, for bricks and plastic and one bottle bank for glass.

Helen, Iran
ofcourse in my country something like recycling is important and luckily people pay attention about it .even when i wanna throw away the waste in my home i try to notice about each matterial.recycling is not easy for everything we think for example sometimes for something like metal or plastic it's expensive .i think the easiest way for recycling is making reuseable things instead of throwing away some easy thing like paper.thx and good luck ppl

Nguyen, Vietnam
I'm quite green, and I'm trying to get greener day by day. I avoid any kinds of cars - I'm carsick - I go to school by bike and persuade my friend to do so. Actually, in our country people are aware of the danger of greenhouse effect, and hence try their best to recycle, for example categorising rubbish, reuse cans, bottles or bringing them to the 'recycle point' for money, but indeed there're still people who are very irresposible, and they are 'obstacles' to the 'trend of green' in our country.

Yana, Cambodia
Hello all, Each country has different ways of how to make their own nation want to keep their environment to be fresh and recycling is one of the best ways that can prevent our environment from the dirt. Here is about Cambodia.Eventhough Cambodia is a developing country, everybody seems to care a lot about recycling. We have groups of people almost all the provinces in our country who collect recycling things in their communities with the exchange back of a small amount of money. As a consequence, everyone tries to recycle as much as they can and this makes it easy to recycle. We usually recycle cans, bottles, metal and paper because we have some factories which recycle these things. I feel that recycling is very important because we can reuse old things. For this reason, we can save our natural resources which are decreasing. What is more, things like bottles, cans and plastics are unbiodigradable things which stay for thousands of year on Earth, so if everyone recycled them everywhere in the corner of the world, there wouldn'l be these things remain in the soil. To my mind, if environmental education is more serious, lots of people will understand the importance our environment is.

Guatemala
IN my country have not habit of recycling. That's stranger.

Muhammed Unal, Turkey
I am trying to be green as much as I can. Because I am aware of danger for our habitat. It is vanishing day by day. People, who lives in cities, cannot recognize this process. Because they lost this many years ago. We have limited natural resources. But people live like we have unlimited resources. So we need to use our resources very carefully. So this makes recycling very important especially in these days. I feel something is wron with nature. Because climate was changed. We have four season in Turkey. We used to have cetain time period for these four seasons. But now, it was chanced. For example we did not have winter this year. And summer came much more earilier than its regular. As result of this, we do not have collected rain as much as we need. So we are going to have a hard time in this summer. I hope that my guess will not be correct but it will not. The recycling is very hard in my country. I think that people need time to get used to the recycling. Some governments channel make commercials and flyouts to improve recycling but people do not take it seriously. So we need to think extensively not for just today also for tomorrow. When we use thing, we are responsible to use it. So we should use it with highest attention. Finally, if we want to have a greener world / liveable world, it starts from our head. We should set our mind for this. Sooner is better. Peace out...

Sirgute, Ethiopia
Our Enviroment is Green but I have no awareness about recycling so I didn't recycle wast things. It is not easy to recycle things in our country.

Miguel Andrés, Perú.
I think that people have earned a lot about this issue all over the world in the last few years, but we need to follow building concious because there are people yet that don,t care if the environment is polluted.

Lukas, Poland
Hello, I'm not against recycling however I wonder how much energy we need to make from e.g. old bottle the new one. One of my professors told me that it is bigger amount of energy that the amount we need to produce new bottle. And if we need more energy, we need more sources (like trees, coal and so on) so in fact we act against our enviroment. My conclusion is that we should also think of the costs of recycling and try to reduce them as much as possible.

Angelina, Russia
No. It's not easy to do it in Russia and it's very seldom to see who really does that. And I think it's hard to force people to share the rubbish couse they got used to throw all sorts of it together in one place for many years. Also a lot of people leave bottles, wrapping papers in the streets or other public places. So I think it's problem here to make people be more carefull with enviroment.

Ben, Germany
It's not easy to be green evertime. But I try it. It beginns when I go shopping. I try to buy products which I can use again like bottles, glasses.... To tell the true i am very foul in that thing although it is easy to recycle and if more people think like me we will live in our future in a pile of rubbish. In my country we have a lot of boxes for the recycle thing organic waste, glasses, platics... and one black box for everything like diapers

Lawrence, Hong Kong
I used to drive wherever I went. But now I have given up my car as one of my way to reduce my carbon footprint. I also encouraged my family members to recycle the rubbish by putting them into the recycling bins. At home I turn off my computer and other electric appliances when they were not in use. I opened the window wide instead of turning on the air-conditioners. I also talked to my friends and encouraged them to lead a green living. I hope what I've done would contribute to the health of our planet.

Wisarut, Thailand
Thailand is a name of agriculture . I would rather to recycle trash especially trash from agriculture . I normally categorize trash into two types. These are both dangerous chemical < hazardous waste > : pesticides ,and regular garbage < solid waste >: plastic bag ,paper . It is hard to find an effective way how I are able to cope with loads of scratchs . Thus the first method in Thailand we get used to seperate waste into four groups- categorizing four colours. To illustrate general waste is coated bins with blue that we dump paper ,wood ,newspaper . Fertilize waste is coated bins with green that we dump vegetable , fruit . Recycle waste is coated bins with yellow that we dump glass , paper , aluminum. And hazardous waste is coated bins with yellow or grey that we dump pesticides. What is more for me when I go to the supermarket , I usually buy recycle products that can observe from symbol just off packages . Even supporting in student' environment projects that the government should give some of money to them become more an effective way .Interestingly ,I learn to convert waste so as to reuse again apart from paper , aluminum, cardboard boxs. And another one is learning to protect environment as much as I can . Thus our world stay claim and peaceful for a long time .

Jeong ju, South Korea
When our government first decided to make people recycle things, people didn't seem to like the idea and doubted if the government's policy would work out. There were a lot of complaints because recycling meant we had to throw away our familiar habit instead of rubbish, and spend our money such as paying tax, buying recycling bags, etc..Although it took a long time and efforts for us to get used to recycling, I think recycling is getting settled now and people don't seem to suffer from the inconvenience that much any more. And now I realise that when there is no rubbish bin on the street, the street can be cleaner because we take rubbish with us to home. I think we need to think of recycling as a long term matter for our environment although everything is difficult to start at first.

Simon, Taiwan
In my country, before we take our garbage to the garbage truck we need to sort all kinds of material. like bottles, plastic bag, metal and paper may be reused by the factory. even the leftovers are used as food for pig.

Pham, Viet Nam
I am not green very much. In my country, the government try to persuade people to seperate organise materials and inorganise materials. But it is very difficult because people do not have habit to do this. They always put every kind of rubbish together and it is very difficult to seperate them.

Nima, Iran
the most important advice about this subject is: every single of us are responsible about the enviroment around the place we are living in and no matter what someone else does we should care about our function.(economizing)

Marco Monteiro, Brazil
No, I like green,I'm feel good in stay in a garden. In Brazil, we haven't usually recycle. Since 10 years ago we are making something to recycle; plastic, paper...etc.The Goverment has done campains about it.

Biane, Brazil
I think that most people are not conscious that being green is not a choise anymore, but a real necessity nowadays.I think that in Brazil there are not many councious people about this reality, even the recycle centers are enlarge. However, all nations should take care of the World and be aware that recycling is one the most important facts we should do.

Bassel, Syria
Dears,I dont think that local authorities are paying attension to these issues. There is a new sectors, poor people, who are working in this feild; collecting bottles, cans and glasses from garbage and sale it to factories to make their living.

Ana Paula, Brazil
I try to be green as much as I can. I usually segregate bottles, plastics, metal and paper in order to become the recycle collect easier. Moreover many people in Brazil support their families with money earned from recycle activity( especially the aluminium can recycle). However, I think people aren´t conscious enough about recycling, and nowadays, even more all of us should have more green attitudes. Therefore we´ll help to keep our environment less polluted.

Anatolii, Moldova
Recycling is of a particular importance because plastic bottles, glass bottles, parcels, packages, paper and other things can be used again with or even without processing. For example, glass bottles can be simply washed and no need to melt them. Recycling lessens the amount of wastes the must be wasted completely. It's a kind of care of our nature and environment that everyone has to carry out. The Earth is our home and it is a home for many, many livings, too! So we have to take care of it like we do in our own house. As to my country, now I see special containers for plastic bottles in the yards. However many bottles are still thrown in 'general bin'. Unfortunately, in my country the environmental culture is at a very low level.

Hicret, Turkey
HelloI think that recycling is one of the most important solution to prevent enviroment pollution.Besides, it is a method saving. For instance, when paper has been recycled trees have been cut down less. There are boxes of recycling for bottles, plastics, metal and paper in Turkey.Municipalities in Turkey provide possibility about this issue. No longer People are conscious about recycling.
