Indian jewellery

A London gallery recently hosted an exhibition of Indian jewellery most of which was made by jewellery makers from the city of Jaipur.

Jaipur has been a centre for jewellery making for many years - priceless gems including rubies, diamonds and emeralds have been transformed into beautiful necklaces, bracelets and other items for former Indian emperors and jewellery is still made there today.

As you listen try to answer these questions.

1. How many diamonds are on the necklace that the curator describes?
2. How much do each of these diamonds weigh?
3. Why did Indian princes like to wear so much jewellery in the past?
