Brazilian rattlesnake
A rattlesnake at the Butantan Institute, Sao Paulo

This week's programme is all about snakes. We travel to Sao Paulo in Brazil - home to some of the most poisonous snakes in the world.

Anna Jones talks to Octavio Mercadente who is the director of the Butantan Institute - also known as 'the snake farm.' The Butantan Institute does important research into many different kinds of snakes and other reptiles and it also produces serum and vaccines against venomous snake bites for the whole of Brazil.
