Sweden releases hijack suspect
Summary: A man who was detained in Sweden last month after trying to get on a flight to Britain with a gun in his hand luggage is being released.  Kerim Chatty will be free to leave a prison in central Stockholm today. The prosecutors decided that there was no reason to keep him in custody, although he will have to report regularly to the police. The investigation of a possible hijacking will continue.

Mr Chatty was detained after he tried to board a Ryanair flight to London with a gun concealed in his hand luggage. But a statement from the prosecution said that in the last few days the suspicion against him has weakened and there are no longer probable grounds for suspicion of planning a hijack. The statement also says there's nothing in the investigation which suggests Mr Chatty planned to crash a plane into a target in Sweden or any other country.
