When it comes to the exam, you must be ready to talk and to take the initiative whenever the opportunity arises.

ACTIVITY
Practise focused listening by:

  • tuning in to English language broadcasts
  • playing spoken-word tapes or videos
  • listening to your favourite English pop/rock CDs while looking at the word.

Practise speaking by:

  • talking to English-speaking friends on the phone
  • talking to yourself in English before you go to bed, when you get up, whenever you have free time
  • rehearsing your conversations in pairs
  • recording and playing back your conversations on tape
  • reading out loud with good intonation from articles, plays, etc
  • karaoke - singing along to your favourite English songs
