Animals vocabulary

Alice and the cat sitting on the sofa

Domestic pets are animals that people keep in their homes as companions. Farm animals are animals that people keep for their meat, milk or other products (such as wool). Wild animals are ones which aren't tame, they live in their natural habitat, for example, in the jungle and are often very dangerous. Birds are winged animals which lay eggs.

Some birds and wild animals are also farm animals (chickens, kangaroos and deer, for example).
