One memorable moment was being on air as the events of 9/11 unfolded, "literally watching history happen". That's what I enjoy most about presenting here at BBC World Service - the knowledge that at any time, day or night, an enormous breaking news story can mean jettisoning any planned programme and "going live" for hours.
