Open for business
africa in business image

Let's talk business! National economies everywhere are powered by business, from the international conglomerates to the deal done on the street; and in every sense, Africa is open for business.

Enterprise and business is flourishing with entrepreneurs everywhere generating cash by providing a variety of services for local and international consumption.

This site will focus on Africa's businesses and the issues they face.

Our series of special reports examine the environment that small scale entrepreneurs and big business are operating in today.

We look at the progress of Black Empowerment in the tourist industry of South Africa; see how water generates cashflow in Sierra Leone; and we hear how economic and environmental concerns are butting heads over the location of a new sugar plantation in Uganda.

Plus, we'll see how little loans mean a lot in Ghana; take a view of video parlour screenings in Nairobi; and get the lowdown on this season's hem line from Africa's leading lady in fashion.

We hope you enjoy it.
