What happens if you want to see the latest action movie but the nearest cinema is hours away - or it could be that it's just around the corner but the prices for tickets are beyond your means? In Kenya, there is an answer to such woes in the form of video parlours which are increasing in popularity and consequently, their numbers have mushroomed around urban areas. These outlets are unlicenced and break international copyright laws by showing pirated copies of the latest film releases; but this is no concern for punters when the cost to see a film in one of them starts from as little as 25 US cents.
