Liberia's leading lady
President Sirleaf
At home Sirleaf is affectionately known as the 'Iron Lady'
Focus on Africa's Veronique Edwards has been keeping impressive company.

She hot-footed it across London to meet Africa's first elected female leader, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia.

Mrs Johnson-Sirleaf is in the UK on something of a donor drive, keen to encourage investment in Liberia to help rebuild the war-ravaged economy.

Veronique started by asking her if the visit had been a success:

Being a great admirer of Mrs Johnson-Sirleaf's dress sense, Veronique steered their conversation on to the president's striking outfits.

In the last installment of the two women's conversation, Veronique Edwards asks the Liberian president about her first six months in the job and how she's going to tackle the major problems still facing the nation.
