Shuga is a three part TV soap opera broadcast across Africa that has caught the popular imagination.

Set in Nairobi, it reached nearly 60% of the intended audience there.

It's a collaboration between MTV and several health organisations such as UNICEF and "HIV Free Generation" to promote safe sex.

We talk to the producer about why it has been such a success.

First broadcast August 18th 2010.
