Ivory Coast army chief returns to Gbagbo's fold

In Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo's occupancy of the presidential palace in the Abidjan remains steadfast.

The competing forces of the incumbent leader's forces and those of the internationally recognised president, Alassane Ouattara have basically maintained their positions.

Then news last night that the Ivorian army chief, General Philippe Mangou is now back in the Gbagbo camp after taking refuge last week in the South African embassy.

So how significant is Mr.Mangou's return to the Gbagbo's camp? BBC Network Africa's Paul Bakibinga spoke to our reporter in Ivory Coast John James.
