Voodoo is the most widely practiced religion in Benin.

In front of one of the country's most respected voodoo dignitaries, Dagbou Hounon, we witnessed dancers and drummers perform ritual dance that would normally be commissioned by a petitioner who had sought help with some aspect of his life from the high priest.

The dance and drums communicate with the spirits who have it in their power to affect any outcome, it is believed.
