Kenya played a leading role in the regional negotiations that resulted in the comprehensive peace agreement which ended the north-south civil war.

It also hosted the peace talks and sheltered thousands of refugees from the conflict.

Kenya's foreign minister Moses Wetangula gave the country's expectations of Sudan's elections to Uduak Amimo.
