Conservationists in Kenya are up in arms against the development of one of the horn of Africa's largest power generation projects.

They argue that the hydro electric dam, being constructed on the Omo River by Ethiopia, will have serious environmental repercussions for Kenya's lake Turkana.

But Ethiopia says the project - known as Gibe 3 - will greatly supplement power supplies across east Africa.
