The Nigerian president has spoken out for the first time, after nearly two months in a Saudi Arabian hospital.

President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua's silence and absence lead to endless speculation in Nigeria, with some rumours suggesting that he was either dead or unconscious.

The BBC's Mansur Liman had an exclusive interview with President Yar'Adua and earlier spoke to Network Africa's Bernard Otieno.
