Later today, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 23-year-old Nigerian man accused of attempting to blow up an American airliner on Christmas day, will make his first court appearance in the US federal court for a bail hearing.
But back in Nigeria, government officials continue to react angrily to the move by the US to place it on a list of countries that require extra security attention.
