It has been more than six weeks now since Nigeria's president Umaru Musa Yar'adua left the country for medical treatment, reportedly in Saudi Arabia.

He left without informing the legislature, and did not transfer power to his deputy.

This has created confusion and awkward constitutional questions - such as who is in charge?

Several concerned parties in the country have even gone to court over the issue, with a few calling for the president's removal.

Some of the cases came up for hearing today at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
