Now this month will be a big one for Ivorian singer, Dobet Gnahoré.

She's been nominated for an award in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category at the prestigious American Grammy Music awards.

The 27-year-old is getting an increasing amount of attention and is being dubbed the next Miriam Makeba.

But despite concerts all over the world, the artist is virtually unknown in her homeland - something that might change after her first major concert in Abidjan this weekend.

Our correspondent John James was at the concert and met up with her to talk about her music.
