Polls will open across Namibia on Friday as the country votes for a president and parliament.

President Hifikepunye Pohamba and his party Swapo, which has ruled since independence in 1980, are being challenged for the first time by a breakaway party, the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP).

However, as polling day looms, there have been accusations and counter accusations involving the parties, civil society, and the national election commission.
