Children left in danger

Most children said to orphaned actually have at least one living parent, this is according to the charity Save the Children.

The group published a report in which it says in some countries like Ghana the number of those falsely orphaned is around ninety-per cent.

The charity believes that millions of children are unnecessarily put at risk of the dangers that come with living in institutions, including rape, exploitation, trafficking and beatings.
