The Red Cross has made an urgent appeal for support for thousands of Zimbabwean migrants displaced by xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

Many of the Zimbabweans fled an informal settlement not far from Cape Town whilst others were evacuated by the authorities.

South African workers accuse the migrants of stealing their jobs, claiming that farmers prefer to employ Zimbabweans because they work for less money.

Network Africa spoke to Tamayi Zoriufura, a Zimbabwean who fled his home with his family.
