The South African government says it's investigating the possible involvement of its citizens in mercenary activity in Guinea.

About 50 South Africans are believed to be training the west African country's military junta.

The junta, led by Captain Dadis Camara, has been under increasing international pressure after the massacre of over 150 opposition supporters at a rally in September.
