The race to represent Africa at the continent's first football World Cup in 2010 comes to a conclusion this weekend.
Egypt and Algeria have called for calm ahead of Saturday's crucial qualifier in Cairo, with the Egyptian foreign ministry adding that sport should not affect relations between them.
The two countries have had a long history of rivalry and Cairo has already started seeing the evidence.
