Despite a peace agreement and political dialogue bringing together the government, political parties and rebel movements, strong divisions remain in the Central African Republic.
The opposition has warned that elections set to be held in the new year must be free, fair and on time, hinting that President Francois Bozizé wants to prolong his mandate.
The BBC's Chris Simpson spoke to Martin Ziguélé head of the opposition party, the Movement for the Liberation of the Central African People.
