One of Africa's largest producers of crude oil seems to have a perennial problem with the supply of petrol.
Speculation ahead of the introduction of a new policy in Nigeria's oil sector has resulted in the scarcity of petroleum products across the country.
The government's plan to deregulate the sector is seen as an attempt to increase the pump price of petrol and reduce subsidies, which would generate some badly needed revenue.
Labour unions and civil society groups are kicking and screaming against the plan but the government appears determined to go ahead.
