It has become almost predictable; every time the President of Somalia's Transitional government, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, flies in or out of the country fighting erupts around Mogadishu airport.


It happened last week when he left for a meeting about refugees in Uganda, and it has happened again today, on his return.

The casualty toll from the fighting today, around the airport, and in other parts of the Somali capital, is put at five dead.

It seems civilians always bear the brunt of violence.

These are some voices of two Mogadishu residents plus BBC Focus on Africa's Sophie Ikenye spoke to Major Bahoku Barigye spokesman for the African Union force in Somalia.
