The Republic of Congo's agriculture minister, Rigobert Mabunu has signed an agreement leasing a large area of the country's land to a South African farming union.

Mr Mabunu hopes that the deal will reduce the country's dependence on food imports.

This couldn't come at a better time for white farmers in South Africa who under the land reform programme will have to look abroad to expand.

For more on the deal, BBC Network Africa's Paul Bakibinga spoke to our reporter Jonah Fisher in Johannesburg.
