One of South Africa's main consumer groups, the National Consumer Forum, has welcomed the decision of the country's Competition Commission to investigate price-fixing by mobile phone companies.
The Commission has notified MTN, Vodacom and Cell C about the probe.
On Tuesday, the government ordered a cut in mobile phone charges by the end of November, saying it had been forced to act because the communications regulator would not do so.
Akwasi Sarpong spoke to Chairperson of the National Consumer Forum, Thami Bolani.
