The D R Congo and Angola have agreed to suspend apparent tit-for-tat expulsions.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa.
It follows reports that up to 20,000 Angolans had been forced across the border.
Earlier there were reports of Congolese miners being bundled out of Angola.
