Guineans are gearing up for a second day of strike in the wake of the repression that killed over 150 protesters last month.

On the first day of the stay-away action, many shops and offices, in both the private and public sectors, stayed closed as unions and political parties called for a strike to pay tribute to the victims of the September 28th protests.

Cellou Dallein Diallo, the president of one of the main opposition parties, the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF), was injured last month during the demonstration in Conakry and he is currently being treated in France for his injuries.

Christophe Pons spoke to Mr Diallo on the line to Paris and asked him about the objectives of the strike.
