The long border between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo is a fluid one.
The Congolese have often crossed over, looking for work, only to find themselves sent back every now and again.
Over the past few days, thousands of Angolans, who have lived in the Democratic Republic of Congo for many years, have been expelled, apparently in retaliation.
For the time being, the two countries have agreed to stop the repatriations.
