The people of Guinea are observing a two day strike to mark the killings of more than 150 protestors by security forces two weeks ago today.

The strike was called by powerful trade unions and almost brought the capital Conakry to a standstill.

The military government, the target of public anger, did not oppose the action, describing it instead as two more days of national mourning.

One of our listeners in Conakry told Focus on Africa's Sophie Ikenye what the situation has been like there today.
