Burkina Faso's president, Blaise Compaore, is in Guinea to mediate between the military leadership and the opposition.
Last week scores of people were killed at an opposition rally in Conakry and on Sunday the French foreign minister called on the international community to intervene.
President Compaore was recently appointed by the regional group ECOWAS as a mediator between the political parties.

Ofeibea Quist-Arcton is a correspondent for US National Public Radio in Conakry, she met with the former Guinean foreign minister and prominent opposition leader Francois Lonseny Fal and first asked him what they had told president Compaore.
